Call It Courage

October 2026

  • Spent 1.5 hrs on a Saturday morning exploring data analysis despite having a bunch of assignments and readings I need to do.

September 2026

  • Volunteered to deliver a demo to the first question of CPSC 310 lab. I was scared before and during the presentation but I got through it.

  • Ran non-stop office hours for 2 hours for CPSC 310 on project deadline day. Was nervous about being unprepared going into it and had poor sleep, but surprisingly I was able to help 3/4 students.

  • Hopped on a recruiter call for Remarcable without deep preparation because I wanted to be more natural and relaxed; was 7/10 nervous going into it but it ultimately went well.

  • Volunteered to go above and beyond my duties by delivering a presentation to 15 students on how to use a REST client to test the project endpoints.

  • Went on a shopping spree for jackets, jeans, and shoes at Levi's, Footlocker, Old Navy, and Nikes after procrastinating on this task for weeks because I didn't want to spend the money.

  • Ran my first CPSC 310 office hour. Helped 3 students resolve their issues. Tutored the last student, Katya, for 45 minutes on her code. Was scared going into it because I didn't feel prepared, but I spent 1.5 hrs yesterday and this morning analyzing the project code and it was helpful.

  • Volunteered to deliver a 5-minute project demo to 26 students even though I was nervous about it at first.
  • Complimented the shawarma guy: "I've tried every restaurant here and I like yours the most" and then chose the "No Tip" option in his face. Never said something like this before to any food service worker.

  • Ran my first TA session with two other TAs. Turned on my camera for over 50% of the duration to 28 students even when I didn't want to.

  • Took Nala inside the pet store and struck up a cool, casual conversation with the female employee.

  • Introduced myself as a TA to the CPSC 310 professor after lecture despite feeling uncertain about it during the entire lecture.

  • Stuck to my original plan of publishing a blog post every Friday. Wrote and published a 600-word blog post in more-or-less one session.
  • Measured my faulty kitchen fan and looked at replacements on HomeDepot.com after weeks of ignoring the issue.

  • Thought through and accepted my CPSC 310 TA offer on the same day, at the library, instead of delaying it.

  • Went to the library and worked on my Obsidian Vault RAG Project for 200 Pomodoro minutes, the longest on an original project in a while.

August 2026

  • Worked on a RAG AI Engineering personal project for 150 minutes and built an MVP using AI - my first original personal project after procrastinating for years.
  • Configured an agentic system for producing tailored resumes and cover letters (something I've been putting off) and used this to create a tailored application to Manulife's Winter 2027 internship
